Several AFC Fylde fans will be pushing themselves to the limit in a bid to raise money for a local charity.

A group of amateur cyclists will be embarking on an 85-mile bike ride from Mill Farm to Harrogate Town ahead of the match on March 4^th to raise money for ‘Aiming Higher’, a charity that helps improve the lives of the disabled community.

The gruelling journey begins on Friday 3rd March, stopping off in Skipton overnight, before heading to Harrogate early on Saturday morning.

Event Organiser Craig Wilson said: “This will be a huge challenge for many of the riders who have not cycled this far before. The hills on day one are tough and the second day takes in the high hills of Yorkshire. After the fearsome Blubberhouses climb and descent, we will reach our destination in time for the match.

“We have already started our fundraising and every pound raised will benefit the wonderful people at Aiming Higher. The twelve of us will be training hard through the winter and we are also looking to appear in the local press as well as raising our profile with smaller fundraisers to help with the final event.” 

Aiming Higher helps families with disabled children enjoy everyday activities. They are a local charity that families trust to provide high quality activities in Blackpool for disabled children. All donations will go towards their move to a new premises this year – Old Hawes Side Library in Blackpool.
