Thousands of people of all ages are benefiting from the partnership between BAE Systems and the AFC Fylde Community Foundation, which provides engagement, learning and rehabilitation opportunities in local communities.

As the principle partner, BAE Systems helps to support a diverse range of projects delivered by the Foundation in communities across the Fylde Coast, including Blackpool, Preston and Wyre.

The Community Foundation is a charitable trust, formed in December 2012, specifically to work with and in local communities. With the help of BAE Systems, important support is provided to those who need it.

Programmes ran by the Foundation include offender management, community education, Primary School physical activity and health and wellbeing classes.

As the partnership goes from strength to strength, the Foundation is seeking to involve employees from BAE Systems in some of the activities on offer including sports, youth work and events within the community. Volunteer support is critical to the success of these programmes.

If any employees are interested and would like to find out more, the Foundation team has extended an invitation to attend any of the programmed sessions and experience the fantastic work that is carried out. Simply contact Director Tom Hutton at tomhutton@afcfylde.co.uk to enquire about volunteering.

Tom said: “It is only by having the support of BAE Systems that the Foundation has been able to work with so many people within our communities and achieve the successes we have.

“The Foundation is extremely grateful for the continued backing. Thanks to BAE Systems, we can invest, educate and support local people while continuing to progress and set new, more ambitious goals within the Foundation.”
