Striker Andy Mangan admits his loan move to the Coasters feels like ‘coming home’.
The 31-year-old, who started his professional down the road with Blackpool, has joined the club from Tranmere until December 23rd.
Mangan has twice won promotion to from this level, first with Accrington Stanley in 2006 and again with Fleetwood six years later.
More success was to follow in 2014-15 when the striker helped Shrewsbury reach League One as runners up.
Mangan is expected to go straight into manager Dave Challinor’s plans tomorrow afternoon against Torquay United and the former Wrexham hitman is raring to go.
Mangan said: “I have played for a couple of teams down the road and some of my family live just around the corner in Kirkham so I know the area really well. It almost feels like coming home.
“I know a couple of the lads already too so I’m really excited about getting started. I know Blinks and I’ve played with Rowey before.
“I have been in some good teams over the years and I have enjoyed a lot of success at this level so hopefully that can continue.
“I have been keeping an eye out for Fylde all season because I know Chall well and they have started great considering this is the first season in a new league.
“The team are only a few points off the play-offs and now that there are more places up for grabs, it gives clubs a massive chance, so you never know.”
Mangan has seen his game time at Prenton Park limited this season and didn’t need take much persuading to switch to the ‘first class’ facilities here at Mill Farm.
“Chall has always said to me, if anything changes with my situation then we will look at doing something. Once my situation did change I gave him a call and we got it sorted.
“It’s first class here. I’ve only had time for a quick glance around but it’s a very professional set-up. I have played here before in Brett Ormerod’s testimonial and it’s fantastic. It looks like it has been built for success and hopefully that follows.
“I’m an experienced player now and I think my record speaks for itself. I’m here to work hard and I like to think I’m a good team player.
“I had a bit of a tight calf earlier in the week, but I should be fine for tomorrow and I’m really excited.”
