The Coasters go into their Vanarama Conference North game at North Ferriby United on a run of  three defeats in a row in all competitions. Two of those defeats came in cup competitions with one defeat in the league, so Fylde will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon to put an end to the losing streak.

It seems that the purple patch for The Coasters is now over, but they’ll be looking to start a new one this Saturday with a trip to North Ferriby – a team who Fylde have already beaten this season at home in the league.

The previous meeting between these two clubs was won 1-0 by AFC Fylde thanks to a 36th minute goal from Danny Rowe, and a 1-0 victory for The Coasters this weekend would be a good result given how hard it was to beat The Villagers in the first game.

Whilst Fylde’s form hasn’t been great over the last couple of weeks, they still sit in second position in the league table and boast the best goal difference in the league. Fylde have a game in hand over Barrow, and if they were to win that game in hand, against Stockport County at the beginning of December, The Coasters would return to the top of the table.

The squad will probably be similar to the one that played/traveled to Plymouth although captain Brad Barnes could be in line to return to the starting line up after his suspension. Tom Eckersley played in the midweek cup defeat to Holker Old Boys and could be involved in some way today, but Matt Blinkhorn is still likely to be out of contention.

The Coasters have won nine out of their last ten league games and will be looking to add another win to their already impressive collection. The three previous meetings between these two sides have all ended 1-0 to The Coasters.

The Villagers are currently 10th but are only four points of fifth place and a play-off position and are likely to have 6ft7 striker Tom Denton playing, and he was a menace in the air in the last game between these two sides, so the majority of their chances are likely to come through him. 

Danny Emerton is still injured, Matt Wilson sits out the last match of his suspension and Ryan Kendall will be in the squad after re-joining the club from Harrogate. 

The Vanarama Conference North is really tight this year, and if the Coasters were to win, they could go top of the league, but if they lose, they could drop down to third behind Guiseley – but they have played two more games than Fylde in the league so far this season.
