AFC Fylde return to Mill Farm action this weekend as we face local side Altrincham in the Vanarama National League in the tea-time kick off.

The fixture falls off the back of two long away trips for the Coasters who faced Dagenham & Redbridge and Boston United in the last seven days, with the game televised by Dazn and kicking off at the later time of 5:30PM.

After a disappointing defeat in East London, Kevin Phillips’ side bounced back in Lincolnshire with a 2-1 win over Boston as they go looking for back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Tomorrow’s visitors, who are travelling just over 50 miles for the fixture, will be looking to get back to winning ways after failing to win since the end of September when they beat Tamworth.

Opposition dugout:

The Robins have been under the tutelage of manager Phil Parkinson since 2017. He has led them to two promotions from the Northern Premier League and the National League North and brought them to the play-offs last season, being beaten by eventual winners Bromley.

As a player, Parkinson appeared over 200 times for Nantwich Town, captaining the side who won the FA Vase in 2006, before taking charge as manager for the Dabbers in 2015.

He presided over two promotions at Nantwich and the FA Trophy semi-finals in 2016.

Last season Fylde and Altrincham played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Mill Farm, while the Robins got the better of the Coasters in the return fixture with a 2-1 victory.

One to Watch: Alex Newby

Newby started his career in the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers, before making his senior debut for Barrow. Spells at Kendal Town, Clitheroe and Chorley, saw him make the jump to the Football League after signing for Rochdale in 2020, scoring his first goal for the club in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe.

In June 2022 he signed for Colchester on a free transfer, making over 30 appearances on the south coast.

Initially joining Altrincham on loan in September 2023, Newby made the move permanent in January and has been a key figure for the Robins since.
