AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor is looking forward to renewing rivalries when his team travel to North Ferriby United in the National League North tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

The Coasters face with a difficult spell leading up to the festive period and Challinor is determined to get the run off to a good start.  

“It’s a tough place to go, but a place that has been good to us over recent years,” said Challinor. “We have picked up some decent results and got a really good point there last year.

“The game kicks off a really tough run for us and a spell that could set us up going into the New Year. We have pitted our wits against each other on several occasions so we have an idea of what to expect.

“North Ferriby have enjoyed a good start to the season and that doesn’t surprise me. They are experienced at this level and when we looked at all the clubs at the beginning of the season, they were one that we expected to do well.

“We can’t just concentrate on stopping their threat though, we have to go there and stamp our authority on the game and put them under pressure.

“The conditions last weekend made it difficult. Brackley Town are in a false position in the league and I don’t think they will be down at the bottom of the table for very long. Some people may see it as points dropped, but taking everything in to account, it could turn out to be a point gained in the long run.

“Over the next couple of months it will be about grinding out results rather than producing sparkling performances.”
