AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor was frustrated as his side conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with Gloucester City at Mill Farm.
The Coasters led 2-1 in the closing stages thanks to goals from Danny Rowe and Steve Williams but an 88th minute strike from Gloucester substitute Joe Parker earned the away side a share of the spoils.
“We should’ve won the game comfortably. That’s not taking anything away from Gloucester, they’ve worked hard but we shouldn’t have to score three goals to win a game.
“It’s been synonymous of our season so far really in terms of an inability to keep the ball out of our net. We could’ve scored six or seven. Their keeper has made two fantastic saves and we’ve hit the woodwork twice. It’s been cleared off the line three or four times in goal mouth scrambles as well.
“Ultimately, we have to win that game 2-1. The goals that we concede aren’t ones that you say it was good play. As a defender you can over analyse goals conceded. You are going to concede goals but the manner in which we are conceding them needs fixing.
“It was tough (with the conditions). Ultimately, we want to play. I want to be entertained, I want to see my teams play.
“This isn’t weather for September. However, come November or December, you have to have to accept that most matches at this level aren’t going to be pretty. They’re going to be about the team that does the basics best and who have a little bit of a spark.”
