AFC Fylde goalkeepers Theo Richardson and Max Metcalfe surprised children on Wednesday afternoon when they visited the Community Foundation’s summer soccer school camp at Fylde Sports and Education Centre!
It was an exciting day to remember for the children in attendance as they got the chance to meet two members of the Coasters’ first-team.
The goalkeeping duo were special guests at the soccer school, which has been running throughout the summer at the state-of-the-art Fylde Sports and Education Centre.
Theo and Max took part in the Foundation’s inflatable football game before answering questions from the children on their career so far.
And Richardson was pleased to put smiles on faces alongside Metcalfe at the Foundation’s summer soccer school camp.
He said: “It’s been really nice to come and see the kids and see what they’ve been doing over the summer holidays.
“It’s brilliant to see them with a smile on their face and that they are really enjoying their football.
“It reminds me a little bit of when I was their age – it allows them to kick a football around all day, so it was really nice to come down to show my face and say hello.”
Richardson also praised the impact of AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s important work in the Fylde borough, adding: “The Foundation is a brilliant thing, especially for the kids to get active during the summer holidays.
“They can run around and have a kickaround with their mates, whilst getting outside and staying active in the summer.”
The Foundation deliver holiday clubs throughout the year at three venues across Fylde; Fylde Sports and Education Centre, St Michael’s CofE Primary School and Bactive, Warton.
Alongside this, the Foundation deliver a number of Football Development Centres throughout the week for children aged two to 12 years old at Fylde Sports and Education Centre.
AFC Fylde Community Foundation would like to thank Theo and Max for visiting our summer soccer school camp.
