The nationally acclaimed Futsal programme set to be delivered by AFC Fylde Community Foundation continues to gather momentum.
The Foundation are rapidly approaching their second official Open Evening to spread awareness about the innovative programme. It will take place on 17th January at Churchill’s conference centre, Mill Farm between 6pm-8pm. This will be a great opportunity for all 16-19 year olds to find out everything there is to know about the Futsal programme.
Following the success of the previous Futsal open evening which took place in November the Foundation have continued to push ahead setting new dates and even introducing free Futsal taster clinic’s to give interested students a chance to get a feel for the game and play Futsal with the team from the Foundation. Working in partnership with Virtual Learning UK (VLUK), the Foundation will begin to roll out the highly acclaimed programme in September 2017.
The Futsal programme is a two or three year BTEC course that enables its young participants to work towards academic qualifications whilst taking part in physical activity. During the course, students will be study and train full time at our brand new education academy based at Mill Farm Sports Village and will divide their time between educational sessions and playing Futsal.
Futsal programme lead Ryan Vaughan is delighted with how well the run up to the programme is going and said: “The Futsal scholarships programme is off to a great start, the interest to the programme has surpassed all of our expectation’s, it’s great to see the Fylde Coast showing a huge interest for the Futsal programme and we plan to continue gathering momentum!”
