AFC Fylde are delighted to announce that Harry Davis has signed a new one-year contract extension for the coming season.
Davis joined the club from Scunthorpe United in January 2022, and he has since been an integral part of the club’s success in recent seasons. Although he was out of favour with Adam Murray at the beginning of last season, once Chris Beech took over in October, Harry returned to the first team duty and made 35 appearances for the Coasters over the rest of the campaign, scoring three vital goals on the way.
As Captain and leader, his commanding performances in Fylde colours helped the side put together an impressive run of form at the turn of the New Year which helped secure their Vanarama National League status.
On signing his new contract, Davis said: “I’m really pleased to be staying with the club for another year, and excited for what this season holds, working with Beechy and what he is building here.”
Head Coach Chris Beech added: ““I’m really pleased Harry has decided to commit to the club for a further year adding to our defensive capabilities for next season.
“Harry excelled at the centre of defence showing old traditional defensive traits while also expressing his capability to handle the ball and play out with purpose.
“Aligned with his football skills Harry recognised our position in the league taking head on the challenge with personality and character to change our outcome for the better.
“His commitment and influence on the culture we encouraged helped the club grow a mindset to being harder to play against both individually and collectively while also understanding that winning matters.
“I’m sure that the Coasters fans will join me in wishing Harry well joining up with his team-mates for the 2024/25 season as we build a squad to take on the National League together.”
Everyone at AFC Fylde would like to congratulate Harry on signing his new deal with the club.
