The manager discussed the stalemate after the match.

“It’s a point gained in the end,” Bentley explained, following the 0-0 draw with Solihull Moors at Mill Farm.

In a wind affected match, it was tough for either side to play as they would have liked to do so, with the conditions causing problems at either end of the pitch. The Coasters arguably had the better of the chances to win the match but both manager’s accepted a point was a fair result at full-time.

“Oviously we want three,” continued Bentley, “and we need three with where we are at the moment. I want to compliment our players who have come up against a big, strong and physical side who have changed their ways slightly with how they play.

“Come half-time, when they’re bringing a bit of physical presence on, you know what’s coming in the second half especially with this wind that we seem to be coming up against every week.

“So, you know, we’ve obviously tested their ‘keeper more than they have done to us in the first half, he’s had to pull off a couple of good saves and we’ve hit the bar. Overall it isn’t a great game and not what we want to see, but at the minute with the weather it just is what it is, it’s a fair result in the end.

“We’ve got a clean sheet, we’ve got a point, but we need three so we’re now looking forward to Tuesday.”

Next up for Jim Bentley’s AFC Fylde side is a testing away trip to Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday evening. Daggers sit in 18th position in the table, 11 points ahead of the Coasters having played one game more.

On the up-coming match, Bentley stated: “It’s away from home, we’ll prepare right as we always do. We can take the positives from this game against Solihull as it’s our first clean sheet in a while so we’re happy with that.

“We know Dagenham is a difficult place to go and we’re away from home, but we have got to embrace this challenge and try to get the victory that will kick us on before we come back to play at home again next Saturday. It’s another big week for us, but one we will embrace as we always do and we look to come out with a good points return.”
