Jim Bentley adds creative and energetic midfielder to his squad!
We are delighted to announce that 25-year-old, Jordan Lussey has joined AFC Fylde.
The midfielder, who was schooled in the Premier League champions, Liverpool’s academy, has sealed the deal at Mill Farm following a successful trial period throughout pre-season. Jordan will be immediately available for the trip to Gateshead FC this weekend, if selected.
Standing at 6ft in height, Lussey has the prowess and ability to boss a midfield when required to do so, whilst also offering creative flair and ability. After leaving Anfield early in his career, the next step was Bolton Wanderers to continue his development, before a loan spell at York City allowed the Ormskirk man to get further knowledge of the game.
In 2016, Lussey joined local-side, Southport FC on a permanent deal, gaining experience of non-league football, before then heading to Telford United. A successful couple of seasons were then backed up by signing for Nuneaton Borough, showing that the latest Coasters’ addition certainly knows the rigours of the level the club is playing at this season.
Manager, Jim Bentley was pleased to strengthen his squad further, saying: “Jordan has trained with us for quite a few weeks and has played with us throughout the pre-season fixtures. He’s a good person, another good character which is important, he’s very fit and is a good footballer.
“He’s a player that has had a fantastic upbringing, he’s honest, wants to work hard and prove himself. Another key reason for Jordan signing is that he can cover plenty of different positions across the pitch, so we’re really pleased to have him on board and give him the opportunity to work hard, enjoy his football and be successful at AFC Fylde.”
