Manchester United’s Tom Sang has penned a loan deal with AFC Fylde, joining the Coasters until the end of the season.
The highly-rated youngster joins from the Red Devils youth set-up, having signed a new deal with United back in May last year.
The midfielder has played for both the U23’s side and in the UEFA Youth league, building up valuable experience in his time in the youth ranks under Nicky Butt and coach Ricky Sbragia.
A defensive midfielder who can also fill in along across the back four, Sang is described by manutd.com as an “important player defensively, he helps screen the back four and is a neat passer of the ball.”
Back in October 2018, Sang was called up to first-team training by then manager Jose Mourinho before their Champions League fixture with Juventus.
“He’s a young player who’s been with us a couple of days, and United were good enough to let him come along and get acquainted with us, and vice versa,” said Manager Dave Challinor.
“The big thing with Tom is he gives us options; he can play as a defensive midfielder, as a full-back, or as a centre-back if we need him to.”
“He ticks an awful lot of boxes, and we’re excited for him to come in, but equally, he comes here with an opportunity to show what he can do.”
Tom Sang will wear the no.26 for AFC Fylde this season and will be available for Saturday’s trip to Ramsbottom United.
