It’s a quick turnaround for AFC Fylde who are looking to return to winning ways when they face a trip to Halifax Town tomorrow night.
Fylde are returning to action after losing 2-1 against Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon with Corey Whelan’s opener being cancelled out by a second half brace from Mike Fondop.
It’s the first meeting between the two sides this season with the teams playing out a 2-2 draw last campaign after Taelor O’Kane scored a brace at the Shay.
The game was due to be played on New Year’s Day but was rescheduled due to winter weather causing issues with the playing surface at the Shay Stadium. However, despite the disrupted schedule, Halifax are one of the more form teams in the league, winning four of their last six games whilst drawing the remaining two.
Opposing Dugout: Chris Millington
Entering his sixth year with Halifax, Millington joined the Shaymen in 2019 as right-hand man to former Manager Pete Wild.
His coaching career began with Altrincham’s under 18’s before working at Stockport County’s Centre of Excellence.
He then briefly worked abroad in Croatia before joining up with Pete Wild at Oldham. The two had met studying for their A-Licence and stayed in touch.
But following Wild’s departure after three years at the Shay Stadium, Millington took the reins after he was appointed First Team Manager.
