The Coasters came away from Lincolnshire delighted after a 3-0 win at Boston United cemented their position of second in the table.

Their was a debut for new loan signing Akil Wright from Fleetwood Town who slotted into a midfield three whilst Richie Baker replaced Caspar Hughes at right back who was suffering from an illness.

The game started quietly but burst briefly into life when Aaron Greene surged forward and mayhem ensued in the box before the Coasters cleared the ball from danger. Carl Piergianni’s handball earned Fylde a free kick but Baker’s effort was cleared by a Boston defender. The best chance of the half came on 39 minutes when Blinkhorn combined well with Lloyd and Lloyd’s ball across the penalty area fell to Dion Charles but his effort was superbly saved by Jason Alexander in the Boston goal.

Charles had one last effort when he was given the ball by Lloyd but his shot was blocked just infront of the keeper. Boston had a couple of half chances, the best one a free kick to the back post which was tipped over the bar by Hinchliffe.

Into the second half and Charles had another early effort but this time it was well wide of goal. Both sides started the second half as they had the first in a cautious fashion with few key chances being created. When the Coasters did break the deadlock it opened the floodgates for more. Danny Lloyd picked up the ball twenty five yards from goal, took a touch and fired the ball low into the bottom right corner out of the reach of Alexander in the Boston goal to the delight of the travelling Coasters fans.

Fylde quickly doubled their lead from the penalty spot after Lloyd was brought down in the box and Richie Baker converted the spot kick to make it two nil to the Coasters. A lightning fast break saw Finley and Lloyd combine for the latter to tee up Matty Hughes at the far post to make it three goals in barely four minutes. Boston seemed shellshocked and struggled to find a way back into the game. Carl Piergianni had a header from a free kick tipped over the bar by Hinchliffe but the hosts’ best chance only came in the final few minutes when Ben Hinchliffe made a superb reflex save to stop Rollins’ effort pulling one back for Boston.

The final twenty minutes saw little in the way of goalmouth action but the Coasters were very comfortable at three nil and the final whistle marked the end of a fantastic away game for Coasters players and fans.
