The pre-season schedule is in full swing for AFC Fylde now as they move on to their third friendly in nine days when they take on Nelson on Tuesday evening.
The Admirals are another side who enjoyed a highly successful 2013/14 season which saw them crowned champions of the North West Counties League First Division and therefore promoted to the Premier Division.
They scored over 130 goals during their campaign last year and that was in no small part down to the efforts of their incredible strike force, which included Richie Allen for the first half of the season.
Mark Fell’s side came to Kellamergh Park in December for a Lancashire FA Trophy Quarter Final clash and they were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a 3-2 score line as they were aided by Allen who scored a brilliant goal to keep Nelson in the game just before half time.
This game won’t have the same intensity as that one did but groundings were certainly made for a long-lasting close relationship between the two clubs which is why The Coasters have taken the opportunity to play this fixture.
The match kicks off at 7:45pm at Nelson’s Lomeshaye Way ground, dubbed ‘Little Wembley’, so come along and show your support for Dave Challinor’s men and for another Lancashire non-league club.
