It’s back to home comforts for Fylde, as Jim Bentley looks to kick things off at home in winning style.

Tuesday night under the lights at Maidenhead United was the setting for Jim Bentley’s first game in charge of the Coasters, which ended up a draw.

This Saturday, at Mill Farm, certainly presents a great opportunity for Jim and the team to earn their first three points in front of the AFC Fylde faithful.

The Opposition

Name: Dover Athletic

Form: DWLLL

Nickname: The Whites

Ground: The Crabble Athletic Ground

League Position: 11th

A mid-table finish in 2018/19 has given Dover Athletic the momentum to build and improve on last season with the side sitting two places higher than they finished last season.

The Whites are only three points off the playoff places which shows just how well they have done early on this season. If results, go their way at the weekend a win will propel them into the playoff spots.

In charge of Dover is manager, Andy Hessenthaler. The former Gillingham Midfielder is entering his second season at the Whites and he is also looking to build on his sides league finish to push higher up the table.

Saturday won’t be as easy for Dover this weekend with a new manager at the helm for the Coasters and they will have to be on guard for a fired-up AFC Fylde side.

One To Watch

Inih Effiong

This week’s one to watch is striker, Inih Effiong.

Effiong is a striker who has started the season well, scoring nine goals in 19 appearances – two of those coming most recently against Eastleigh.

Transferring from Ross County in July 2018, Effiong has been a good signing for Andy Hessenthaler’s side. He has made 46 appearances for the Whites, scoring 18 goals for them.

Before Ross County, Effiong had spells with Woking, Barrow and Boreham Wood – giving him plenty of National League experience.

A man who found his form in-front of goal again against Eastleigh, the Coasters will have to be aware of his presence on Saturday.

Head-to-Head

This will be the fifth time the two sides have met – with the Coasters having three wins compared to Dover’s one.
