In a game full of chances both sides were unable to break the deadlock as AFC Fylde extend their unbeaten away start to the Manarama National League season to seven games.
The game started brightly in the opening minute as Serhat Tasdemir found the ball out wide, the youngster fizzed in a dangerous ball which just evaded Joe Cardle’s brilliant run.
The chances kept coming after a well-worked corner fell to Danny Rowe, the striker struggled to get his shot but instead found Croasdale in space, the midfielder shot just wide of Johnson’s right post.
Fylde continued their bright start and had their best chance of the half in the 15th minute. Joe Cardle corner was met by the head of defender Jordan Tunnicliffe, his header clipped the underside of the crossbar and appeared to just cross the line. The Coasters players appealed the decision, but the goal was not awarded.
Throughout the half the Shaymen looked dangerous on the counter, on the 17th minute they broke with four against three, the ball landed with Jordan Preston who blazed over Jay Lynch’s crossbar.
Halifax best chance of the half came soon after. Defender Ryan Sellars evaded Tasdemir to find himself in the box, he squared the ball to former Blackpool man Sanmi Odelusi who scuffed his chance just wide.
On the 32nd minute Rowe hits an effort on his left which deflected straight back into his path, his right foot strike was deflected forcing Sam Johnson into a great save to deny the Coasters the lead.
Moments later Halifax forced another counter attacker as Joe Cardle pass was intercepted in the Shaymens half, Neill Byrne was unable to deal with the long ball which found its way to Johnathan Edwards whose shot was stopped by Jay Lynch to deny the home side a 1-0 lead.
It wasn’t long until Halifax were presented with another chance, this time a corner found defender Nathan Clarke who headed just wide.
As the second half came to an end Jordan Tunnicliffe almost made it 1-0 after getting on the end of another Joe Cardle corner, his effort this time going just over the bar.
Not to be outdone Halifax went up the other end and almost broke the deadlock only for Zaine Francis-Angol to put his body on the line to keep the scores level.
Fylde started the second half on top, Joe Cardle combined well with Danny Philliskirk inside the area, the former Oldham Athletic man’s effort was easily saved by Johnson.
Ten minutes later and it was Philliskirk once again who found space in the box hitting a powerful effort straight at Johnson.
On the 69th minute, Ashley Hemmings replaced Serhat Tasdemir. The attacker was involved straight away cutting in on his left and unleashing an effort goalward which always looked like going wide.
The pace of Jonathan Edwards and the Halifax counter-attack continued to scare the Coasters. The striker raced down the left side and hit an off-balanced shot well wide of the target.
The Shaymen were presented their best chance of the game in the 76th minute as Jay Lynch somehow denied Halifax taking the lead. A goalmouth scramble resulted in the Shaymen looking certain to score only for Lynch to pull off a remarkable save on the line.
As the game progressed both teams appeared to tire as AFC Fylde finished the game the stronger. Joe Cardle was involved once again as he tried his luck from 30 yards out. His right-footed effort was deflected wide.
In the final seconds of the game, the Coasters were presented with their best chance of the game. Danny Rowe found Ashley Hemmings on the each of the six-yard box, under pressure the attacking winger shot just over the bar.
