Very few job descriptions include the task of ‘transforming lives’, but that’s exactly what’s on the agenda for the newest member of the ever-growing team at AFC Fylde Community Foundation.
The Foundation have recently welcomed Stanley Wharton to the team to fill the challenging role of Transformational Coach.
The role of the Transformational Coach will be to work in the local community, reaching out and supporting people currently facing issues gaining employment.
Working in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, Stanley and the Foundation are looking to link with more and more people who have been suffering from unemployment for long periods of time. By offering intense support, the aim is to assist them in achieving their goals and finding their way back into working life.
In his new role as Transformational Coach, Stanley will be helping participants achieve new qualifications as well as motivating and guiding them into volunteering work. He will play a valuable part in helping each of those involved to overcome the barriers they are currently struggling with and make a positive impact on the lives of people in the local area.
Stanley is delighted at the opportunity he has been given to join the team at the Foundation. He said: “I have heard many great things about the work of the Foundation in the local community. It’s an incredibly progressive organisation and hopefully my skillset will enable me to excel at my role and play an important part in helping the Foundation achieve even more success.
“I’m really excited to get started with this role, working with local people and trying to make a real difference to their lives, providing opportunities that perhaps they normally wouldn’t get. It will be incredibly rewarding – for them, for me and for the Foundation as a whole.”
