An innovative traineeship programme is helping to shape a brighter future for young people across the Fylde Coast.

Delivered by AFC Fylde Community Foundation working in partnership with Virtual Learning UK (VLUK) and supported by Cuadrilla and Centrica, ‘Striking Futures’ offers a wealth of opportunities for men and women aged between 16 and 24 years of age.

The ground-breaking traineeship programme provides a diverse range of inspiring and informative sessions focusing on multiple learning outcomes. This ensures the 12-week course is both educational and enjoyable for all those taking part.

After a successful first cohort of trainee’s the Foundation have now officially started working with a further group of 8 striking future trainees who are all determined to succeed and strive on the programme.

The second cohort of young people are provided with an insight into a multitude of organisational roles including admin, business and sports coaching during their time with AFC Fylde Community Foundation, ensuring they leave with a greater understanding of what is involved.

After an incredibly successful first intake of trainee’s, Foundation Director Tom Hutton has high expectations for the success of the new cohort and said  “It has taken an incredible amount of planning to ensure the success of this programme and I am really happy to be able to see more and more young adults getting involed and making a positive change in their lives.”

“The Striking Future’s programme provides fantastic opportunities for young adults that they otherwise would not be able to enjoy. It is our mission to get the participants involved so they feel ready for the next exciting challenge in their lives. “
