It’s match week five in the Champions League, and things are reaching the business end of the group stage.
First up, Tuesday 27th November sees both of the Manchester clubs in action.
Manchester United look well poised to qualify from their group, with Young Boys at home presenting them a fine chance to reach that 10 point mark before heading to Valencia for their final game.
It’s been an up-and-down season so far for Jose Mourinho, but could this light the fuse for a successful season?
Their neighbours Manchester City have been slightly more comfortable in their group stage, and look certain to qualify. That said, a tricky visit to Lyon stands in their way this week.
The French side are just three points behind them, so it would certainly put pressure on them for the top spot were the English champions beaten.
Then, Wednesday 28th sees two mouthwatering ties lined up.
Spurs will take on Inter at Wembley, in a game which is a must win for them should they wish to progress into the next round.
Win this game, and Spurs have a lifeline – although they will still have to go to Barcelona and win, which is no easy task.
Liverpool, who sit in the closely contested Group C, definitely have their work cut out if they want to progress to the Round of 16.
Wednesday sees them travel to Paris, to take on PSG in a game that could make or break their chances.
Could last season’s finalists be heading out early?
