We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting Blackburn Rovers at Mill Farm Stadium on Saturday 10th July in a pre-season friendly dedicated to former academy player, Luke Bennett.

The friendly against the EFL Championship outfit will kick off at 3 pm and will be the first game in front of supporters for Rovers. It will provide an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the life of Luke, our former academy player and son of Blackburn Rovers Academy Coach, Tom. Both Clubs are working together to create a befitting day of celebration that will pay tribute to Luke and his family.

On the friendly, AFC Fylde Chief Executive Jonty Castle commented: “We are delighted to play host to Blackburn Rovers in July in what is going to be a fantastic friendly for the club and a special occasion for Luke Bennett’s family and friends.

“Luke was a popular member of our academy and played a part in the Under-18’s FA Youth Cup success last season. With the Covid-19 situation easing, we are very hopeful we will be able to welcome a significant number of home and away supporters to Mill Farm and enjoy a special day leading up to the new campaign.”
