The Club is delighted to announce that Danny Philliskirk has committed his future to AFC Fylde by signing an improved two-year contract.
Philliskirk, who arrived at Mill Farm Stadium following his release from Blackpool FC in July 2018, is entering his fourth season with the Coasters, and the management staff have rewarded the dynamic midfielder with an improved contract after an impressive 20/21 campaign.
The 30-year-old has a wealth of football league experience under his belt, with clubs such as Sheffield United, Coventry, Oldham Athletic and Blackpool amongst his CV. Since signing for previous Coasters boss Dave Challinor, ‘Philly’ has gone on to make 105 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals – three of which came last season.
Philliskirk has established a solid partnership with David Perkins in recent times and will be looking to build on what was a productive, albeit short, 20/21 National League North season.
Speaking to afcfylde.co.uk, Coasters boss Jim Bentley said: “Danny is a fantastic pro and a top player, so we are really pleased to have agreed terms. He is very low maintenance and gives us a high output week after week, in both training and games.
“He has good experience & knowledge of the game; knows the club inside out and is a player who is well-respected by all at AFC Fylde. We feel as though Danny could easily play up at the next level or two, and his ambition matches ours.
“I’m delighted he is on board now for the successful journey that hopefully lies ahead for us all.”
