AFC Fylde is delighted to announce that defender Luke Conlan has signed a new one-year deal, with the option of a further year being held in the Club’s favour.
The left-back has committed his immediate future to the Club and gives the Coasters a boost ahead of the 2022/23 National League North season.
Conlan, who has represented Northern Ireland at under-21 and various youth levels, first signed for the Coasters from Morecambe FC in 2020 for an undisclosed fee.
With a wealth of experience behind him after first coming through Burnley’s academy system before a short-term loan with St. Mirren and over 100 appearances for the Shrimps, Conlan will be hoping to kick on and take his recent impressive form into the 2022/23 season.
On signing his new deal, the 27-year-old said: “I’m delighted to be staying here. I’ve really enjoyed my time with this group, so it’s great that I’m getting to extend it.
“It is a tough one to take not getting promoted this year as we all fully believed that we would achieve it. We were nowhere near good enough individually and collectively on the day, which is frustrating, but we need to use this feeling as fuel for next year, where I’m sure we’ll go on to achieve our target of promotion.”
