Second placed AFC Fylde travel to 16th placed Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday looking to go back to the top of the Vanarama Conference North league table.

The Coasters slipped up at home to Hyde last Saturday, and the 1-1 draw at Kellamergh Park paved the way for Barrow to regain the lead at the top of the league after they were victorious.

Fylde aren’t a million miles away from Barrow, two points in fact, but if The Coasters are to win the league this season they’re going to have to hope Barrow slip up somewhere along the line.

The Coasters have drawn four of the last seven games and have only won three times since the end of January, but before that, a nine game winning streak saw Fylde dominate the league.

Four of the last five games for The Coasters have been away from home and victories against Worcester City and Leamington have done Fylde no harm in their efforts to try to catch Barrow.

March has been a mixed bag for Fylde with two wins, two draws and a defeat in the five games they’ve played this month and they’ll be looking to add another victory on the road on Saturday, this time at mid-table Gainsborough.

Although Trinity are 16th, they are only two points away from the relegation zone although they do have a game in hand over the teams around them. However, if results don’t go their way this weekend then they could slip into the bottom three.

Trinity’s form has been poor of late, losing to Boston, Worcester and Harrogate this month although in their last home game they beat Leamington 1-0. They’ve only won two games since January and they seem to be on a rapid decline.

These two sides have already played each other twice this season, both times at Kellamergh Park. Goals from Danny Rowe and Richie Allen saw off Trinity in the league in October, before The Coasters convincingly won 3-0 in the FA Trophy in December.
