AFC Fylde can confirm a bid was rejected yesterday for Vanarama National League leading goalscorer Danny Rowe.
The bid of £50,000 and a player was received from an unnamed former Premier League side yesterday afternoon, and promptly rejected, seen as derisory.
“The bid was an insult to both Danny and the club, and was treated with the contempt it deserved,” said Chairman David Haythornthwaite.
Danny Rowe’s 23 goals this season have seen the Coasters assert themselves as a prominent figure in the National League title race, with wins against Wrexham and Solihull Moors to end January on a high.
This rejected bid follows a further rejected offer in the summer, when a six-figure sum from Cheltenham Town was also turned down.
The club have maintained that Danny Rowe isn’t for sale, and is happily settled with The Coasters, as the hunt for promotion to the English Football League continues.
