AFC Fylde are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Assistant Manager Colin Woodthorpe’s wife, Karole, who sadly passed away on Tuesday following a brave battle against ill-health.
Manager Dave Challinor paid his respects:
“We have spent our weekends together as families and friends for the past 15 years, firstly as teammates and then as a management team.”
“Karole is already sorely missed but will always be an inspiration in the way she fought this disease to the very end and continued to be an amazing mother, wife and friend to all.”
Chairman David Haythornthwaite also added:
“Karole had been ill for some time and has fought an amazing battle which she has ultimately lost.”
“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Colin and his family at this very sad time.”
As a mark of respect, the Coasters will be wearing black armbands during this weekend’s game at Chesterfield.
Everyone at AFC Fylde would like to express our deepest condolences to Karole’s family and friends, and of course Colin, at this very difficult time.
