We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting Wigan Athletic at Mill Farm Stadium on Tuesday 20th July in a pre-season friendly.

The friendly will kick off at 7:30 pm and is another welcomed test for Jim Bentley’s side as they prepare for the new 2021/22 National League North season. AFC Fylde has forged strong links with the League One outfit in recent times, with Chief Executive Jonty Castle, Assistant Manager Nick Chadwick, and players Luke Burke, Emeka Obi, and Bobby Jones all previously employed by The Latics.

Wigan Athletic, managed by Leam Richardson, defied the odds to preserve their League One status last season after a strong end to the campaign.
