David Haythornthwaite, the Club Chairman, has issued a rallying cry to the Coasters fans ahead of Saturday’s big game.
“Following the appointment of James Rowe, it’s time for a united effort by everyone both on and off the field to ensure we give ourselves every chance of securing promotion this season. We have potentially sixteen, maybe fifteen, but hopefully thirteen cup finals left to play.
Whilst we have been plagued by injuries, with currently nine senior players side-lined, two of whom Cullen and Piggott are out for the rest of the campaign, spirits remain high, and with key players due back over the coming weeks, we should be at our strongest at the right time.
It goes without saying that the fans have a massive part to play in this, and although we don’t have a large fan base as some of our rivals do, it’s quality, not quantity that counts, so I am asking our fans to get 100% behind the boys in every minute of every game.
We’ve had a tough two and a half years by our standards, and I recognise fans have become frustrated, even disillusioned at times, and as a result, crowds and confidence have recently slowly crept down.
So, it’s now time to put that behind us and look forward, grabbing the massive opportunity we still have, to right those past wrongs, with both hands.
Life doesn’t owe you a living, just as having the biggest budget doesn’t guarantee you success on a football pitch – hard work, dedication and an unshakeable belief in what you are doing is far more important.
We all have a part to play, and for my part, I want to kick start this new era by offering free coach travel to Kidderminster for the first of those cup finals this coming Saturday.
Get that drum tuned up, and let’s make some noise!”
