AFC Fylde have been handed a tough home draw against Barrow AFC in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

The Coasters secured their place in the final qualifying round of the competition following an emphatic 9-0 victory over Coleshill Town and will host National League side Barrow on Saturday 24th October.

Manager Dave Challinor admitted he is looking forward to renewing old rivalries with the Bluebirds.

“They are a team we know well from last season,” said Challinor. “Of course we would have liked to have got a lower ranked team in the draw, but we are at home and we are very much looking forward to the game.

“We beat Barrow twice in the league last year and fully deserved to do so. I’m sure they will also be looking at the draw and thinking that they could have got an easier game too.

“This is a good chance to see where we are at and to prove ourselves against an accomplished side in the division above.

“The prize money in this competition is significant for clubs at our level and it also gives us the opportunity to draw a football league club if we can get through to the first round proper.

“We want to achieve what we did last year and preferably go even further if we can. We set our sights as high as possible and we want to create some history.”
