Involvement and inclusion are two buzz words for the AFC Fylde Community Foundation.
The Foundation is committed to breaking down barriers and reaching out to all members of the local community irrespective of age or ability.
Every Friday, the Foundation pays a welcomed visit to Fylde Day Care Services to deliver a social inclusion session during which everyone is encouraged to get involved.
The session is proving to be a huge success each and every week with the focus on involving the entire local community in sports and games regardless of what challenges individuals might face.
Participants at the inclusion session greatly enjoy the time spent with the Foundation and it’s guaranteed smiles and positive feedback all round.
The most recent session with Day Care Services was a particular highlight. The participants were offered the opportunity to visit Mill Farm – the home of AFC Fylde – and were treated to a VIP tour around the ground. They sat in the dug out, had their photographs taken pitchside and even received a rousing team talk in the home team changing room!
AFC Fylde Community Foundation Director Tom Hutton says it’s both a pleasure and a privilege to be working closely with such a diverse range of organisations and individuals across the Fylde Coast.
He said: “The social inclusion project delivered at Fylde Day Care Services is one of the most rewarding sessions we provide at the Foundation.
“Its a great success every week and brilliant for us to be able to involve the local community in every aspect of our work. Our ambition is to make this even bigger and better in the future. “
