AFC Fylde Community Foundation are setting themselves up for even greater success throughout the community by taking on a new Head of Sport and Fundraising.
The position has been taken by Mike Vernon, formerly of Fylde Coast YMCA.
As part of his previous role, Mike had overall responsibility for all YMCA leisure facilities across the Fylde Coast. His wealth of experience means he will be a valuable addition to the Foundation team and can hit the ground running.
Mike will be working with AFC Fylde Community Foundation to help develop its Sport and Physical Education strategy. He will also be helping to engage with different partners across the community, ensuring that the Foundation continues to grow.
In addition, Mike has been tasked with enhancing and further strengthening the Foundation’s Health and Wellbeing portfolio working in partnership with local schools.
Mike is excited about the fresh challenges his new role will bring and is eager to take up his position with the Foundation team.
He said: “It’s no secret that AFC Fylde Community Foundation are doing some fantastic work within our local community.
“To be given the chance to get involved by being offered the new role of Head of Sport and Fundraising is a fantastic opportunity for me. I’m incredibly proud and can’t wait to get started.
“My plan is to take everything I’ve learnt in my previous role to support the Foundation to get bigger and stronger. I want to build on the positive links already firmly established within the community, benefiting both the organisation and local people.”
