Free summer activities for all with Foundation’s outreach initiative!

Providing free community sports sessions is nothing out of the ordinary for AFC Fylde Community Foundation. However, this summer they have taken the initiative to an exciting new level, with even more activities planned for local youngsters.

The popular community outreach programme provides local children with a safe and structured sports environment during their long summer break and a host of events to keep them entertained.

Held at various locations throughout the Fylde, the all-inclusive programme targets children who may not normally have the opportunity to take part in professional sports sessions.

They are encouraged to get involved, have fun as well as meet new friends through the power of sport.

This summer the Foundation’s outreach programme will take place every week at the following locations;

• Tuesday: 13:00-15:00, Staining Gala Field
• Wednesday: 13:00 – 15:00, Ashton Gardens, St Annes
• Thursday: 13:00 – 15: 00, Hove Road Park, St Annes,
• Friday: 13:00 – 15: 00, Kirkham Memorial Park

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is proud the organisation can continue to deliver free community sports during the summer break.

He said: “Summer outreach is a very important project for the Foundation as it underpins everything we are trying to achieve with local communities.

“It’s an incredibly rewarding programme, not only for the children but for the staff who run the sessions. Everyone at the Foundation looks forward to this initiative throughout the year.

“It offers children the chance to get active and take part in sports they might never have tried as well as meet new people and grow in confidence. I’m glad we can continue running this programme and confident it will get even better!”
