AFC Fylde travelled back to the Fylde Coast with three points in their back pockets after picking up a 2-1 win at Roots Hall against Southend United in the National League.
The Coasters took the lead just two minutes in when Taelor O’Kane broke free from a corner and beautifully guided a header into the top corner, a goal that would see the away side go into the break ahead.
Southend had a point to prove in the second half, which saw a long ball upfield fall to Harry Cardwell, who gave Richardson the eyes and slotted into the bottom left corner.
After posing as huge threats to Southend all afternoon, Josh Kay & Jon Ustabasi combined for Kay to set Ustabasi free and in on goal, with the wide man beating David Martin and sealing all three points for the Coasters.
