AFC Fylde are proud to support International Women’s Day 2024 and we are highlighting our women’s team to celebrate the day!
International Women’s Day is marked every year on 8th March. This year’s theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion, which will focus on forging a more inclusive environment for women around the world, recognising all backgrounds and all ages.
The global day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
And on International Women’s Day, learn more about AFC Fylde’s women’s team, who compete in the Northern Premier Division.
The club have a continual programme of development and growth with aspirations, using the power of the AFC Fylde badge.
Playing their home fixtures at Kellamergh Park, AFC Fylde’s women’s team provide an inclusive, family friendly environment.
Members of the first-team squad have also been involved in AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s activities, including meeting young girls during Football Development Centre sessions at the Fylde Sports and Education Centre.
These opportunities for youngsters to meet players from Fylde’s squad serves as inspiration for the next generation of female footballers.
We are proud of our talented female staff who work across the Club and Community Foundation, and fully support International Women’s Day.
Heather Watson, General Manager of AFC Fylde Women’s team, said: “The growth and development of the women’s team continues to be our priority. On international women’s day we are proud to have such strong links to our Community Foundation to encourage all women and girls to participate in sports.
