Ahead of Wednesday night’s clash against Boston United, Jon Ustabasi spoke to the club website as we look ahead to the second of back-to-back away games.

The winger returned to the side against Dagenham & Redbridge following suspension and a small groin injury.

But speaking ahead of the long midweek trip, the winger has some fond memories of playing against tomorrow’s opponents.

He said: “Boston is a team I know well having played them in the National League North a few times and it’s a team I seem to play well against.

“I think their pitch is quite similar to ours which is hopefully a kind of positive for us.

“They’re obviously at the wrong end of the table but so are we so it’ll be a tough game with two teams that need to try and win and hopefully we can go there and get the three points.

“If you look at the table and how we’ve performed away from home, this is a game which you look at and say ‘you need to go there and win’ and it’s hopefully one where we can pick up some points.

Despite last week’s disappointing defeat, the winger remains confident in his side’s ability to turn the recent form around.

He added: “Training has been good. It’s very organised and scheduled with some fun bits thrown in too, so there’s plenty of smiles on the grass but obviously there’s a lot of hard work.

“People are training hard and the Gaffer has demanded that we train like we play and I think the intensity has been really good.”

“We were in a similar position last year. I think we were even worse off so I’m confident.

“I don’t think the league is as strong as it was last year and there’s no real run-away team like a Chesterfield, and I think there’s a lot of sides that are of similar abilities so if you get a string of results together you can see yourself fly up the table.

“We were around the bottom on Boxing day and then we went something like eight games unbeaten and with that little run, you tend to believe in yourself a bit more.

“If we can pull a few results together back-to-back, then confidence will grow and that’s everything in football.

“We know it’s not a great start and we know we need to turn it around but I remain confident in the group that we will do that.”
