AFC Fylde are delighted to announce that striker Joe Piggott has signed a new contract with the Club.
After signing a short-term contract with the Coasters in August, Piggott has now put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal at Mill Farm, with the Club holding the option of an extra year in their favour.
Joe came through Everton and Rochdale’s academy systems and signed his first professional contract with Scottish Premier League outfit Dundee United in 2017, before returning to England to sign for Warrington Town.
Piggott impressed at The Yellows, and he attracted the interest of Wigan Athletic where he went on to enjoy three years under Nick Chadwick’s management at The Latics. An injury-hampered loan spell at Stockport County followed a stint at Morecambe, where current Coasters boss Jim Bentley was manager. Joe then spent a small amount of time at Altrincham FC before joining the Coasters.
Since arriving at Mill Farm, Joe has made five appearances for Jim Bentley’s side, scoring two goals against both Hereford and Southport in the National League North. He also grabbed the assist for Ethan Walker’s late goal on Saturday, which earned us a point against Alfreton Town.
Moments after Joe signed his contract, he said: “I’m delighted to sign my new deal with the Club. I’ve worked hard, and I’m enjoying my time here.
“We’ve got a good group of lads, who all work hard for each other, and we will keep on pushing to hopefully achieve our goals come the end of the season.”
Joe will continue to wear the number 19 shirt this season.
