After six years at AFC Fylde, Kim Turner has departed as First-Team Manager to pursue a new opportunity.
Kim has been with the club from the very start, joining in 2016 when AFC Fylde Women formed, first beginning her journey as a player and ending it as First Team Manager.
On her departure from the Club, Kim said: “I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to manage this club in the FAWNL.
“During my time here, there have been some highs and lows, but I will always be incredibly proud that Danielle Young and I brought this women’s team back during some hard times in Covid.
“Thank you also to David Haythornthwaite for allowing us to make it work, believing in us and always supporting us.
“I’d also like to thank the players, staff and volunteers at AFC Fylde Women – without you, this journey wouldn’t be possible, and we’ve had some great memories together.
“Lastly, I’d like to thank Danielle Young for her relentless work behind the scenes and continuous support- I know that you will take this club forward to where it deserves to be – I wish everyone the best of luck for the season and beyond.”
Danielle Young reserved special words for Kim and said: “It’s a very sad time for the club. Kim has been the driving force over the last two seasons and leaves behind a legacy.
“The opportunity she now has ahead of her, she 100% deserves, and we will always be supporting her from a distance.
“I would like to say thank you for her dedication, her hard work, for being my mentor and helping me progress on to my new footballing pathway.
“On behalf of us all, we wish you the very best of luck with your future – thank you Gaffer!”
We would like to thank Kim for her incredible work, commitment and loyalty to this football club. We all wish her the very best for the future.
