AFC Fylde Women are back at Kellamergh Park this Sunday, where they will host Derby County Women in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.
This upcoming fixture against the Ewe Rams takes place on Sunday 22nd October, with kick-off at 2.00 pm.
Having gone three games unbeaten in all competitions, Jack Garside’s team will be keen to continue their positive form when they take on Samantha Griffiths’s Derby County this weekend.
Heading into this fixture, the Coasters are still searching for their first league win of the season. However, they will be encouraged by the strong performances and fighting spirit that they have displayed in recent games.
Playing twice in the space of five days, the Coasters registered back-to-back home draws against West Bromwich Albion Women and Liverpool Feds WFC, respectively.
Last time out, Fylde left it late to seal a 2-2 draw against Liverpool Feds after a thrilling game under the lights at Kellamergh Park. A stoppage-time equaliser by Lily Murphy helped the Coasters earn a deserved point on the night.
As for their next opponents, the Ewe Rams will present another difficult challenge, especially considering Derby County’s strong away form with three wins from three games on the road.
This included a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest Women in the East Midlands derby, which was played in front of a record crowd at The City Ground a fortnight ago.
Last Sunday, Derby County travelled to the Stafflex Arena in West Yorkshire and ran out 4-0 winners against Huddersfield Town Women. The result moved the Ewe Rams up to seventh in the table.
With that in mind, the Coasters will have to be firing on all cylinders this Sunday if they are to come away with a positive result in front of their home supporters.
