It’s a return to home soil for AFC Fylde as they play host to Sutton United on Tuesday night.
Fylde have had some midweek joy in recent weeks, picking up results against the likes of Halifax and Hartlepool United whilst playing under the lights.
The Coasters are in huge need of a result however, after falling to back-to-back defeats against relegation rivals Ebbsfleet United and Braintree Town respectively.
Opposition Dugout: Steve Morrison
Head Coach Steve Morrison was appointed in January 2024, moving from Isthmian League Hornchurch, with the Essex club seven points clear at the top of the Premier Division when he left.
He previously spent just under a year as manager of Championship side Cardiff City, steering them clear of the relegation zone in the 2021-22 season, having previously been Head Coach of their Under 23s.
Steve’s playing career as a striker saw him make nearly 700 senior appearances, half of which were for Millwall in three spells, and score nearly 250 goals. He also played for Northampton Town, Bishop’s Stortford, Stevenage, for whom he scored the winner in the 2007 FA Trophy final, Norwich City, Leeds United and Shrewsbury Town. He was capped 20 times by Wales.
One to watch: Josh Coley
After coming through the academy at York City, Coley began his senior career in the South Midlands Football League with Arlesey Town.
After playing part time, he was successful on trial with Norwich City where he joined their under 23’s set up.
In recent years, Coley had picked up some EFL experience with the likes of Exeter City and Harrogate Town before joining Sutton in June 2023 in their relegation season from the fourth tier.
A winger that has a dangerous pace in his ranks, Coley is a speedy asset on the wings with plenty of creativity.
