It was a day of redemption after Tuesday night’s defeat for AFC Fylde, who took all three points from Forest Green Rovers in a resounding 3-0 victory.

Fylde provided an impressive display scoring three goals and keeping a clean sheet against a promotion battling side, earning their first win in four games.

The first ten minutes proved to be back and forth with a deep cross from Bardell providing Fylde an early chance, giving the Forest Green Goalkeeper Mrozek something to think about.

The deadlock was broken 26 minutes in after Mitchell broke into the box which led to a shot from Massey.  The initial shot was brilliantly tipped onto the post, but fell kindly for Will Hugill, leaving a simple finish into an empty net.

A big chance fell to Fylde late on in the first half with Mitchell and Roberts two on one, but Harries did well to recover forcing a corner.

The first half saw its chances for both sides with Fylde capitalising meaning they headed in for the break one goal to the good.

A lively start to the second half saw Fylde have the ball in the back of the net within seconds from a Gavin Massey strike, but the referee blew for a foul in Forest Green’s favour.

A second goal came for Fylde in the 63rd minute from Harry Davis, who found himself free at the back post after some stunning attacking play from Haughton, to give Fylde a two goal cushion.

Less than ten minutes after the second, Fylde found a third goal through this seasons top goal scorer, Nick Haughton, who struck the ball into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box with a trademark strike from the number 10.

Forest Green Rovers had a big chance to grab a goal back as substitution Doidge hit the post late on. But AFC Fylde capped a professional defensive display to seal a clean sheet
