Report: Coasting Through To The First Round Proper
AFC Fylde 6 – 1 Peterborough Sports
Rowe 27’, 66’, 71’, Kosylo 57’, Haughton 82’, Bradley 90’ – Sembie-Thomas 90’
AFC Fylde ran out comfortable winners in the FA Cup, as a Danny Rowe hat-trick propelled Fylde past Peterborough Sports.
The first-half saw Fylde start with intent, with Danny Rowe breaking the deadlock after Kosylo’s cut back fell to him on the edge of the 18 yard box.
The Coasters had plenty of chances to increase their lead in the first half – none more so than when Nick Haughton struck the post from just outside of the box.
Jordan Williams will also be scratching his head as to how he didn’t find the back of the net, after he was played clean through one on one, but couldn’t find a way past Moat.
With one goal already in the locker, it looked as if Rowe would fire a second before the half-time whistle when he was played through by Haughton.
Much like the chance with Jordan Williams, Rowe seemed to have all the time in the world to bury it – but he, too, managed to fire at Moat from close-distance.
With it finely balanced at the interval, the Turbines would have had hopes of a second-half comeback – but it wasn’t to be, as the Coasters took it up a gear.
Matty Kosylo cut in off of the left to curl a beautiful effort past Moat, before just ten minutes later Rowe had a third as he turned home Kosylo’s cross from inside the box.
Rowe soon completed his hat-trick, rounding the keeper and slotting home after good pressure from Luke Burke on the keeper.
Nick Haughton was the next in on the act as he fired home from an acute angle after some delicate footwork, with the game now well out of reach for the visitors.
The visiting fans did have something to celebrate though when Sembie-Ferris notched a consolation in injury time.
But this was short lived, as Dan Bradley thundered home a volley from outside the box to cap off a brilliant afternoon for the Coasters.
The Coasters head into the First Round on Monday as ball number 61, and will be eyeing the likes of local neighbours Blackpool and Fleetwood.
