The long awaiting planning meeting to consider the Mill Farm Sports Village will now be held next Wednesday, 4th June at 10.00 am. The venue is Lowther Pavilion in Lytham which is, as the name would suggest, in Lowther Gardens. This is a public meeting and anyone can attend.
The good news is that the Planning Officer has recommended this application for APPROVAL which is fantastic news.
An independent survey published in tomorrow’s Lytham St Annes Express shows the strong levels of support from people in Kirkham and Wesham.
The survey, which involved over 500 residents, showed that over 79% of people are in favour of the development (see attached separate press release) with only 16% opposed.
We are therefore extremely hopeful that members of the Planning Committee, who will have the ultimate say, bear this in mind when deciding whether or not to support the officers’ recommendation.
So it’s now time to galvanise everyone and get as many bodies as possible attending the meeting at Lowther next week. This is not only a huge decision for AFC Fylde but for the area as a whole. If approved the people of Fylde would no longer be dependent on Blackpool or Preston to provide first class sporting facilities – they will be right here on our doorstep for all to benefit.
