The summer sunshine is aiding progress at Mill Farm this week with developments being made on all areas of the site.
With May being the wettest in recent history, it made working on the ground very difficult but as the phrase goes, the show must go on!
The main access road is close to formation level with kerbs and drains well underway. Subject to the weather, continuing as predicted, we should see tarmac on the main road system around the site by the end of the month.
The tarmac contractors have already made a start, on one of the many stadium carparks (see picture) which has now got a ‘black top’ and is nearly ready for the new ‘site set-up’ to be established. This will see the portable staff units moving from the top of the site and into the new area to enable further development work to take place.
AFC Fylde fans will be excited to see works to the all-important pitch getting underway with preparation and levelling for the sub-base for the pitch.
Work on the stadium itself is due to start in the next two weeks as the access roads are being completed, but much work is on- going behind the scenes to finalise design and procure the main build elements such as steelwork, concrete terracing units, cladding and bricks.
