AFC Fylde are delighted to confirm that Ethan Mitchell has extended his loan until the end of the season from Sky Bet League One side Wigan Athletic.
Defender Mitchell, 20, who initially signed a one-month loan, has impressed during his early start to life at Mill Farm, making three appearances for Chris Beech’s men since arriving in January, helping the Coasters secure back-to-back victories during that time.
And following his commanding displays in Fylde colours, Mitchell has committed to the club until the conclusion of the current Vanarama National League campaign.
Earlier in his career, Mitchell was in the academies of Wigan Athletic, Tranmere Rovers and Plymouth Argyle, where he turned professional at the Pilgrims, before returning to the Latics in the summer of 2022.
Having extended his time on the Fylde coast until May, Mitchell hopes he can help the Coasters climb up the league table after a positive first month of the year, which has seen them win four out of the last five fixtures.
