Danny Ormerod is “over the moon” to extend his stay at AFC Fylde after signing a new contract at Mill Farm until the summer of 2026.
The forward, 18, burst onto the scene in Coasters colours after making his professional debut in November 2023 following excellent performances in the FA Youth Cup for the academy as well as the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy.
Danny’s new deal keeps him on the Fylde Coast for a further two-seasons.
Ormerod became a key player in Chris Beech’s side during the second half of the Vanarama National League, scoring six goals in 27 appearances.
Danny struck his first two professional goals in an important 2-0 victory against Rochdale at Mill Farm on New Year’s Day.
The local lad would go onto net decisive goals to seal home wins over Bromley and a brace versus Maidenhead United – as well as further strikes in games against Solihull Moors and Chesterfield.
And Ormerod is delighted to kicking on in Coasters colours as Chris Beech’s men prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Beech was a key part in Danny’s decision to sign a new deal.
Ormerod said: “I’m buzzing to be signing until 2026 and I can’t wait to get going.
“The Head Coach has helped me settle in a lot, he really wanted to keep me here for the next two-years of my contract, so I’m over the moon to be signing again for AFC Fylde.
“I had a few great memories last season but my favourite was definitely Rochdale on New Year’s Day, scoring the two goals on my first professional start is a day I’ll never forget.”
Ormerod is hoping to kick-on in front of goal next term for the Coasters after a positive start to his professional career.
He added: “Hopefully next season, we can push on again and I can score a lot of goals.”
Everyone at AFC Fylde would like to congratulate Danny on signing his new contract!
