New signing Danny Philliskirk has joined AFC Fylde on 2-year-deal and he can’t wait to get started ahead of the 2018/19 National League season.

The experienced attacking-midfielder signs after being released by Blackpool at the end of last season. Philliskirk played 40 games for the Seasiders over a 2-and-a-half-year spell and has explained to the club that he can’t wait for the new season to start.

Whilst acknowledging there was interest from other clubs, a chat with Coasters manager Dave Challinor left Philliskirk in no doubt of his preferred destination. Philliskirk said:

“I had heard good things about the club, I knew they were interested, I came and met Chally, had a look around and I’ve never looked back, the facilities here really open up your eyes and it’s great to see what they’re doing.”

“A couple of other clubs were interested but it was important for me to be close to home and my family.”

When asked about his best attributes Philliskirk answered:

“Hard work, that’s something I pride myself with, whether I’m having a good game or a bad game I’ll always give 100%. I’ve got an eye for goal and hopefully, I can score a few here”.

Philliskirk is raring to go and is hoping to make his debut in tomorrow’s game vs Preston North End.
