AFC Fylde v Curzon Ashton

Tuesday 6th September, 2016, k/o 7:45pm

Mill Farm

Vanarama National League North

AFC Fylde will be hoping to improve their fortunes at Mill Farm with a second home game in just four days.

The Coasters are still unbeaten this season, but have managed just one victory from the opening four games at the new stadium so far following the 2-2 draw against Gloucester City this weekend.

Striker Danny Rowe is a man in form and his 11 goals in eight games currently leads the top scorers chart for the league by some way. Defender Steve Williams is also enjoying a purple patch in front of goal with four goals already this season.

Curzon Ashton enjoyed a solid campaign during 2015-16, finishing eleventh in the National League North in only their second season since being promoted into the division.

Fylde had mixed results against Curzon last season. The Coasters won 2-0 at Curzon with goals from Richie Baker and Dom Collins but fell to a surprise 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at Kellamergh Park.

Their results so far this season, however, have varied. Beaten 6-1 on the opening day by relegated Kidderminster Harriers, Curzon have since beaten Altrincham, another relegated side, 4-2 away from home.

Like many other clubs in the league, Curzon have been active in a bid to bolster their squad for the season. Experienced midfielder Iain Howard has joined the Nash as well as Charlie Ennis and central defender Danny Hall from Hednesford Town and Guiseley respectively.

Curzon suffered defeat against Salford on Bank Holiday Monday before earning a dramatic late draw at Harrogate Town at the weekend. Add in the match against ourselves tomorrow evening and the Nash will have played the top three teams in the division in three successive games.

If the first month of the season is anything to go by, then Curzon fans can be sure for a rollercoaster season

Team news:
Goalkeeper Rhys Taylor is still likely to be out for another month after injuring his calf in the win over Alfreton. Brendon Daniels is expected back in two to three weeks after suffering a knee injury.
