Striker Danny Rowe was delighted to secure a vital victory over Stockport County on Tuesday night.
The 18-goal frontman curled home a dramatic 98th minute winner at Edgeley Park and admits the result could prove to be ‘massive’.
“No one else was having that free-kick! Bakes (Richie Baker) has been on a few but my free-kicks have been good this year. Some have hit the post, others have gone in but they’ve all been close.
“To be honest, when I got the free-kick I hadn’t had much in the game in terms of shots. I don’t think I played particularly well, but when I saw the free-kick, I thought this is a good opportunity to see if we can win it late on.
“It was a massive result. Different things will go on during the season but coming here and getting a win, like as Chall said, a draw would have been a good result considering how we’ve played.
“We didn’t play well and we didn’t create many chances. I expected us to win but we’ve got to go to other places now and do the same. We’ve just got to keep going and keep picking up points and try and leave teams behind.
“To be fair, I thought we started well and we passed the ball well. They couldn’t get near us first five, ten minutes. We gave them a bit of encouragement and they came into the game. The three points in the end were good but it shows that we can dig in.”
