The Coasters have landed the services of fans-favourite left back Adam Sumner for a further two years after he signed on the dotted line last week.
22-year-old Sumner was the first player brought in by manager Dave Challinor when he joined the club in November 2012 and has made 144 appearances, scoring five goals, in that time.
59 of those appearances came last season and because of his excellent displays, he walked away with all but one of the individual First Team awards at AFC Fylde’s end of season awards dinner in last month, including Goal of the Season, for his well-worked strike against Rushall Olympic, and Supporters’ Player of the Season.
With team-mate Ben Hinchliffe already signed up for the near future and the arrival of Michael Potts from Guiseley, the addition of Adam’s services for the next two years will be another welcome boost for Challinor ahead of the new campaign.
